Ted Pittz was a three sport athlete at Mineral Point High School, participating in football, wrestling, and track.  He earned 10 letters in these sports.

Ted  was  a  three  year  starter  on  the  football  team.    In  1978  he  was  selected  2nd  Team  Dodgeville  Chronicle All-Area  running back.  In 1979 he was named Southern 8 All-Conference and Dodgeville Chronicle All-Area 1st team defensive back and 2nd team halfback.  His senior season he was selected Southern 8 All-Conference 1st team quarterback and defensive back, Dodgeville Chronicle All-Area 1st team quarterback and defensive back.  Ted was selected 1980 conference Most Valuable Player and also selected to Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-State first team as quarterback and safety. He was football captain his senior year and was voted the Most Valuable Player by his teammates his junior and senior years.  His most memorable moment was returning a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown.

Ted’s athletic career did not end on the football field.  He qualified for the WIAA State Track meet three times.  Ted won a state championship in the pole vault, had a runner-up finish in the pole vault, finished in fifth place twice in the 100 meters and two 6th place finishes in the 200 meter dash.  He was also elected track captain by his teammates. 

Ted qualified three times for the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament winning a state championship at 155  pound  weight  class  in  1981.    He  and  his  son Tucker  are  the  first  father-son  state  wrestling  champions in Mineral Point history.  Ted was inducted as a member of the Al Bauman Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012.

After  graduation Ted  attended  the  University  of  Wisconsin-Platteville  where  he  played  one  year  of  football as a quarterback, defensive back, and kick returner.

Ted resides in Mineral Point with his wife Tina and three children Stacy, Alicia, and Tucker.
