Offensive Lineman: 1992-1995

Joe was a four year starter for the Mineral Point High School Football team.  He was three  times  named  Most  Valuable  Offensive  Lineman  for  the  1993, 1994,  1995  seasons.  Joe was voted Most Valuable Team Defensive Lineman in the 1995 season.  He was voted First Team, Offensive Lineman in the SWAL All-Conference in 1994 and 1995.  He was elected team captain for the 1995 season.

Joe was recognized offensive lineman First Team All-Regional in 1995.  He is proud of  the  backside  pass  protection  he  provided  for  Hall  of  Fame Quarterback,  Andy  Palzkill.  Palzkill passed for 6,650 yards during those seasons.  Joe missed only one offensive series in four years and that was to repair the facemask on his helmet.

Joe  went  to  the  University  of  Wisconsin,  Madison  and  became  a  four  year  letter  winner  for  the  wrestling  team.    He  qualified  for  the  NCAA National  Wrestling  Tournament  while  wrestling  for  the  Badgers.    Joe  was  inducted  into  the  Mineral  Point  Al  Bauman  Wrestling  Hall  of  Fame  in 2006  joining  his  dad,  Tim,  who  was  inducted in 1998.

Joe  is  currently  teaching  elementary  physical  education  in  the  Platteville School  District.  Joe married Lindsey Spiel in 2008 and they currently reside in Mineral Point with their two children, Stella and Lincoln.
