Wrestling Hall of Fame
Bobby was born in 1955 to Mert and Harry May. Bobby was raised on the family farm in Mineral Point. Bobby’s success in wrestling has memories that he will cherish forever. Starting in 7th grade when Mark Bennett, his friend, convinced him to take up the challenge to wrestle.Â
Bobby’s most memorable moment in the sport was as a sophomore, he decisioned undefeated, and three times State Champion, Frankie Valesquez from Park 7-5.
Wrestling soon became a household hobby. Bobby’s brother, Danny followed in his older brother’s footsteps in wrestling. Local wrestlers that Bobby watched and admired were Russ Kitsemble, Rich Lawinger, and Donnie Hanson. He also remembers his many loyal fans.Â
Bobby’s accomplishments include:
- Three year wrestling letter winner
- State qualifier in 1971 and 1973
- State champion in 1972
- Career record 83 wins and 4 losses
After his illustrious wrestling career, he has continued his successes in the cattle business. He has helped many kids coaching them about responsibilities, livestock, and discipline. Bobby continues to reside in Mineral Point with his wife, family and many friends.Â
