As fans arrived in Mineral Point for an early 2:30 p.m. kickoff on Senior Night, wind gusts reached nearly 30 mph ahead of Friday afternoon's highly anticipated conference matchup.

The Cubans controlled both lines of scrimmage and dominated the first half, with senior Bradley Rowe opening the scoring on a short touchdown run. Following the early score, both offenses reached a stalemate, leaving the Cubans with a 7-0 lead after 24 minutes of play.

Coming out of the halftime break, Hudson Kieler connected with Frankie Welp through the air to extend the Cubans' lead to 14-0.

Mineral Point got on the board with three minutes remaining in the third quarter as Liam Carey connected with Elliot Kite for a touchdown. The score, which came on one of Kite's seven receptions, cut the Cubans' lead in half.

The final minutes of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth featured a back-and-forth battle, as Mineral Point clawed its way back into contention. With three minutes remaining in regulation, Carey connected with Tyler Ingwell for a spectacular one-handed touchdown grab in the end zone, tying the game at 14.

Carey finished the afternoon completing 16 of 26 passes for 196 yards, two passing touchdowns, and an interception.

However, Rowe quickly halted the Pointers' momentum with another rushing touchdown, finishing the afternoon with a game-high 192 rushing yards.

Cuba City's Brayden Andrews then intercepted Carey and returned the ball for a touchdown, extending the Cubans' lead and ultimately sealing the victory with just over a minute and a half remaining.

Despite another touchdown reception by Ingwell in the closing moments, Mineral Point's comeback attempt fell short.

With the victory, Cuba City improved to 6-3, while Mineral Point fell to 6-3 to close out the 2026 season.
