The Pointers capped a dominant postseason with another shutout performance, defeating Johnson Creek 6-0 in Saturday's Division 4 state championship game at Goodman Diamond.

Ace pitcher Tenleigh Bockhop delivered when it mattered most, overpowering the Blue Jays with a complete-game effort. Bockhop struck out 10 batters and allowed just three hits, finishing a remarkable postseason in which the Pointers did not surrender a single run.

The Pointers wasted little time providing Bockhop with run support, scoring four times in the opening inning. Jadyn Schultz put the Pointers on the board with an RBI single before Aida Tuttle followed with an RBI double. Ava Ingwell added an RBI double to score Tuttle, and Leah Hoffman capped the rally with an RBI single that brought home Ingwell for a 4-0 lead.

Mineral Point added an insurance run in the second inning when Ingwell drove in another run to extend the advantage to 5-0.

The Pointers finished with 10 hits in the championship victory. Ingwell paced the offense with two hits and two RBIs, while Austy Kinch and Aida Tuttle each added two-hit performances.

The victory secured the second state softball championship in Mineral Point school history and the program's 29th state title overall. The Pointers also etched their names into the record books as just the fourth team in WIAA state history to complete an entire postseason without allowing a run.
